ABOUT

Gagandeep Kochar is a Mumbai-based contemporary artist whose work explores emotion through layered color, fragmented form, and the symbolism of nature. Rooted in his Punjabi heritage and shaped by the energy of Mumbai, His paintings are built through bold color relationships and overlapping visual planes, creating a sense of depth that mirrors the complexity of human emotion.

Flowers, animals, and human gestures recur throughout his work — not as decorative elements, but as emotional carriers. Flowers suggest vulnerability, growth, longing, and tenderness. Animals embody instinct, intelligence, and quiet strength. Hands and figures often appear suspended in motion, expressing connection, distance, and unspoken dialogue.

Working at a larger scale allows him to create immersive environments where color becomes atmospheric and form becomes experiential. His compositions balance chaos and harmony, control and spontaneity — reflecting the layered nature of identity and belonging.

Travel and lived experiences continually reshape his visual language, expanding both subject and abstraction. Each body of work becomes a meditation on emotional connection — personal yet universal.

His paintings are designed to hold space — to command attention while inviting contemplation — making them deeply resonant within contemporary architectural and gallery contexts.
